My friends and I did the quarter century. This was the first time we did this event.
Registration was a breeze. This event was very well organized and the ride was enjoyable. The rest stop was absolutely amazing. The bbq was delicious.
We are looking forward for the next event. I highly recommend this and will spread the word.

My first Windmill Century. The route is spectacular – what great cycling roads! It’s my first time around this wine country and was impressed at how safe and uncongested the route was (except Solvang ;-)). Registration was super-simple online and check-in took less than a minute. We missed a turn in the first half-mile through not paying attention but otherwise the route was very well marked. The rest stops were really good – very friendly staff applauding the riders as they came in and the food was the best I’ve seen at a Century. The SAG cars were excellent – I didn’t have any “mechanicals” but my friend did and he was very soon picked up and had his bike fixed by the SAG at the next rest stop – really great.
Only nits were that the T-shirt is uninspiring and they ran out of ice cream at the final barbecue. Would definitely ride again next year!

Windmill Century is a ride my Sweetie and I have participated in many times. It is a smaller ride that is well-supported and makes for a very enjoyable day. E-mail communications leading up to the event were very good and will help a first-timer prepare. Parking and registration is a breeze, so you can focus on the ride and having a good time. Volunteers at all of the rest stops were friendly and supportive. And the ice toward the end of the ride (when it was hot) was great! Fortunately we did not need the SAG vehicles; however I saw them pass multiple times, so they were on the course. Finally, the barbecue after finishing is a great way to relax and rest after a long ride. Highly recommended!

This was my first time participating in an organized ride. I enjoyed the quarter century scenic ride through Santa Maria and Orcutt. Volunteers were very friendly, there was a nice variety of snacks at the rest stop, got a couple of cool pics taken by Photocrazy, and also received an event t-shirt and SB Bike water bottle. I’ll continue training in hopes of participating in a different route next year.

I have done the Windmill Metric Century ride three times. I enjoy the scenic views and talking with other riders (great people). I like the fact that the route has changed up over the past couple years. The rest stops are well stocked. The ride goes up towards Vandenberg AFB and makes its way inland to Foxen Canyon Road Wine Trail. Just the right amount of challenging climbs.
