This event hosted by the SLO Bicycle Club was my very first century ride and I am already looking forward to doing it again next year. The scenery was incredible/beautiful/spectacular and the weather was nearly perfect. Nothing compares to the natural beauty of central California; they appropriately titled the event “Wildflower Century” for a reason! Although the route included some poorly paved roads, the majority was smooth and had relatively little vehicular traffic. Both the volunteers and staff were friendly and helpful, and each rest stop had more than enough resources (except the last rest stop around mile 80, which almost ran out of water–this would’ve been very problematic for some of the later riders coming in during the high heat of the afternoon). The food was absolutely delicious! It ranged from bacon-wrapped dates and sandwich wraps to snickerdoodle cookies and fresh fruit. The post-ride BBQ was also delicious and conveniently located near the start/finish as well as the parking lot. Overall, this was an unforgettable experience and I am so glad that I had the opportunity to participate. I would highly recommend this ride to any well-trained cyclist!

I just love this ride. The people are friendly and helpful, the camping options are a real plus for me and without I would either be driving a few hours to the start or not attending. The course options are good. I love the spaghetti feed the night before. Awesome. Wine and desserts and wonderful food. The after ride dinner this year wasn’t as good in my opinion but still, barbecued chicken and the fixin’s can’t be all bad. I wish Shell Creek Road were not so torn up, but other roads had a new finish. The traffic was not heavy the day I rode. All in all, this ride is a must do for me each year/

1st year riding the Wildflower Century and it had everything we were looking for in an organized ride – plenty of routes, SAG support and rest stops along with nice scenery. We chose the metric route and the course was well marked and had well-stocked rest stops every 15 miles or so. The route covered less-traveled country roads so you could take in the gorgeous scenery without having to deal with a lot of traffic. There was one stretch of road that was pretty bumpy but we were warned of this section well in advance. Really can’t blame the organizers as there aren’t too many route options out there. Because of the remoteness of the ride, it was nice seeing so many SAG vehicles patrolling the course. And, yes, there were wildflowers… not quite a super bloom but they were everywhere. Looking forward to doing this ride again.

This was my first time participating in this Century, overall a great experience. The routes and scenery were great, much support with rest stops every 15 miles (how sweet is that!), I recommend those that like a nice ride with its share of climbing and great views consider participating. Overall support and staff friendliness were outstanding.

The weather was great – cool in the morning and warming up to around 80F in the afternoon. Much of the roadway had been recently repaved but there was also a “Pave” section on Shell Creek Rd. Huero Huero Rd. had sand in some places which was a bit of a hazard but very manageable/avoidable. Staff/volunteers were very friendly and helpfull.

This is the second event I have been part of. The first one was the Lighthouse Century ride last year. The staff in every stop are so friendly and happy to assist you. The fact that a guy was giving away fresh delicious strawberries for the ride out, put a smile on lots of people’s faces! The check in was easy, fast and smooth. The food in the stops were fresh and delicious. The BBQ at the end was spot on, exactly what you need after a ride. Thank you – to all that participated. It was a great experience.

The rest stops were well stocked, friendly people, friendly atmosphere. Registration staff was very friendly. Local traffic on some of the roads were bad, trucks buzzed us a few times. Roads and course marshal’s were well marked. All around great ride, Great experience, Great food. If you haven’t ridden this ride yet you should definitely add it to your list!

The weather was very wet in the morning, but I enjoyed it just the same, as I was dressed and prepared for the rain. Some of the roads were terribly worn out, but I’ve come to accept that just about everywhere now, unfortunately. The scenery was awesome, very little traffic! The food at the rest stops was wholesome and plentiful. The support was awesome

I wanna go back and do this route on a nice, SUNNY day! The rain really spoiled this ride. Not the coordinators fault! The rolling hills the first 15 were like silk! I could only do the 45 even though I planned for the Century. Way too much rain for me. As a beginner rider, it posed too many issues. Thankfully, I live near enough so I can get those hills another day.

Had a great time on the ride. The available routes were challenging. Great sag support along with plenty of food at the rest stops. The route was well marked and the route sheet was easy to understand. The volunteers who helped support the ride starting from the spaghetti feed to the BBQ at the end of the ride were very much appreciated.

Could use more law enforcement presents especially on HWY 58 and La Panza Rd.
La Panza Rd traffic was dangerous and one could tell the locals did not like cyclist !
I was riding on the fog line and almost got ran off the road by a impatient motorist who refused to slow down or move over !

This was my first century so its hard for me to compair against other rides however my first century was lots of fun and a very rewarding experience. I was very impressed with their SAG and repair support (thank goodness I didnt need it). The food was perfect. THey provided a virtual smorgasbord of cycling appropriate foods at every rest stop. I didnt like coming back to the starting point for the 50 mile rest stop but I loved the diversity of the terrain. The first 1/2 of the ride was in the Paso Robles vineyards which was beautiful. My only complaint was that about 20+ miles were on roads that hadnt been repaved in 20 years. They were horrible and jarring. The 2nd half of the ride proved to have much better road conditions and even more breathtakingly beautiful. Overall the sceenery was spectacular, support was really good. Will repeat next year.
