The scenery was incredible/beautiful/spectacular and the weather was nearly perfect. Nothing compares to the natural beauty of central California; they appropriately titled the event “Wildflower Century” for a reason! Although the route included some poorly paved roads, the majority was smooth and had relatively little vehicular traffic. Both the volunteers and staff were friendly and helpful, and each rest stop had more than enough resources (except the last rest stop around mile 80, which almost ran out of water–this would’ve been very problematic for some of the later riders coming in during the high heat of the afternoon). The food was absolutely delicious! It ranged from bacon-wrapped dates and sandwich wraps to snickerdoodle cookies and fresh fruit. The post-ride BBQ was also delicious and conveniently located near the start/finish as well as the parking lot. Overall, this was an unforgettable experience and I am so glad that I had the opportunity to participate. I would highly recommend this ride to any well-trained cyclist!
